The Blue Ridge Earth Science Collaborative will be offering an Oceanography Course from June 24-July 3 at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. For completing the course, teachers will receive 3 graduate credit hours for EVSC 5050: Advanced Oceanography for Teachers. A textbook, housing (double occupancy) and a modest meals stipend will be provided. Teachers are responsible for paying $150 in tuition for the course. Please check with your school division on reimbursement policies for professional development courses. Your school division may cover some or all of the cost.

To apply for the course, please fill in the appropriate information and answer all questions. Please do not apply for the course unless you can commit to attending all nine days of the couse, June 24-July 3 (no class on Sunday June 30). When you have completed the application, a thank you screen will appear letting you know that it has been received.

Funds for the Blue Ridge Earth Science Collaborative courses are provided by a grant from the federal Improving Teacher Quality State Grant (Title II, Part A) Professional Development Program administered by the State Council for Higher Education for Virginia.
